Sustainable washing

Sustainable washing

Another step towards sustainability. In the course of product development, Ryzon is always on the lookout for innovative materials and more sustainable solutions. The goal is to optimize the properties of each individual product in the portfolio. In doing so, Ryzon pursues the highest standards of quality. This means not only perfecting the functionality and appearance of the products, but also focusing more on the aspect of sustainability. The environmental pollution caused by microplastics from synthetic fibers is only one aspect of this complex issue - but a very important one.
In cooperation with the GUPPYFRIEND® Washbag, Ryzon wants to counteract microplastic pollution and create awareness.

A global issue

The problem of tiny plastic particles is not a local one, but now affects the entire planet. They are found in countless quantities in the oceans and rivers, are detectable in our food and pollute the air. At a sobering 35 percent, synthetic textiles account for a large share of microplastic pollution. Every time they are washed, many synthetic fibers end up in the wastewater, where they find their way into open waters and cause damage.

Stop micro waste!

Ryzon is on a path. The goal of this demanding path is the sustainable production of the entire product range. Due to the fact that most of the production takes place in other European countries, Ryzon has already taken the right direction. Through a supply chain that is as transparent as possible and selected cooperations, aspects of sustainability can be monitored and credibly represented. Natural and recycled materials are already used for a large number of products, thus creating alternatives. However, recycled synthetic fibers also pose a problem, as plastics are generally not biodegradable.
So far, there are no adequate filters that can be used in everyday washing to screen out microplastics. The GUPPYFRIEND® Washbag is ideal to bridge the gap until a mature solution is available and to immediately reduce the concentration of microplastics in the water.

Friction causes microfiber breakage. With every wash cycle, countless microplastic particles from synthetic clothing thus end up in the waste water. The GUPPYFRIEND® reduces the breaking off of the fibers and catches the still loose particles. Thanks to its close-meshed rod-shaped openings, the wash bag prevents the smallest fibers from entering the waste water. The resulting abrasion can be easily removed from the bag after washing and disposed of.

With the help of the GUPPYFRIEND® Washbags is now possible to wash more sustainably and to counteract the pollution of seas and rivers. Here you get to the product.
The moment is now.
